Kate Sweeney is a global leadership and communication skills facilitator. She develops and delivers programs worldwide that help individuals and businesses through the challenges they face leading and communicating in a globalized environment.
Prior to working in the private sector, she spent 13 years in the United States Army as a Chinese Linguist. She lived and worked in countries as diverse as Japan, China, India, Italy, and France, where she used her language and cross-cultural communication skills to liaise effectively with embassies and diplomats worldwide. In the United States, Kate worked for the Department of Defense, training military personnel in tactical and strategic leadership and communications skills before turning her passion into helping clients in the private sector hone their leadership and communication skills. Kate has taught communication skills at Columbia University and in the CUNY system since 2016. She has Master degrees in International Management and Adult Learning and Leadership, and is currently pursuing a doctorate at Columbia University’s Teachers College in Adult Learning and Leadership. Kate is fluent in Italian and French and conversant in Mandarin Chinese and Spanish.
